From: A. Gordon To: "W.G. Bakewell" Letter to "My Dear Sister", dated August 30, 1862. Regarding her acknowledging if she received a Bill of Exchange that was sent to her. Sent her another Bill of Exchange enclosed in the letter for $250. 50 dollars for her and the rest for her brother William. She wishes he would come out , because she fears she will lose the road because of the Confiscation Act. Talks about the city being attached by the Confederates and the difficulty of traveling without papers. |
